Most people I encounter do not like change, even though they are desperately praying for something radically different to happen in their lives. It is these people that fail to transition into new seasons and suffer greatly trying to hang on to something that left them a long time ago. I myself have learned that transition is not only for our good, but it must be done well. Let’s look at something Paul wrote; Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
These verses speak of a heart and mind that are in transition.
Transition is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another. Paul says to do this we must “forget (no longer care for) the things that are behind (in time) us”.
To transition well we must be able to put into place things that we once cared for because a past not dealt with is a past we are still being controlled by.
Transitioning well takes both a renewed mind and a heart that has learned to love greater than it understands.
“Forgetting things that are behind” takes a mind that has been renewed, and being able to Reach ahead takes a heart that has been anchored in the unseen realms of Glory. Since eternity is in our hearts and not our heads, we must be able to clearly see what is ahead. Failure to transition causes hopelessness to rise in our spirit man.
Our ability to look into the face of Christ through encounter will bring transformation to our inner man and will help us make transitions with strength from the Lord.
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Cor. 3:18 This scripture also speaks of a heart that has dared to go where most will not. (We see with our heart and not our eyes.) “I pray that the eyes of your heart (Understanding KJV) may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,” Eph. 1:18 This verse is telling us that a heart that has not learned to trust will not transition.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” Prov. 3:5-6 When transitioning, You will contend not only with yourself but also with demonic powers. Every time you are set to go through the door, demons from your past will manifest. When set to cross the Red Sea the Principality of Egypt moved Pharaoh to rise up and kill Moses and the Israelites. They pursued them into the sea to destroy them before they were able to SEE and feel the promise in their hearts. Pharaoh came with his might and all the sounds of their past to cause the Israelites to fail to see themselves as anything else but “SLAVES PATTING MUD INTO BRICK” It is the work of devils to invade a heart in transition that God has designed to go from Glory to Glory causing it to never fully trust in the Lord and move into the unseen realms of glory. It wasn’t until they reached the other side that Miriam sang a NEW SONG. It was a song of a heart transitioned.
Abraham was a man transitioning: Each time he was set to cross over (Gen. 14:13 Hebrew means one who crossed over) the enemy would attack his heart. Capturing his wife, Lot leaving him, Battling the 4 Kings, Ismael being sent away; All of these things were set to cause him to reevaluate the journey and keep him from stepping through. But Abrahams heart had already crossed over! Becoming Hebraic is not a Nationality….. It is a mindset to trust God and move when He moves.
The Greek Mind “Thinks” and ponders. “22 While Jews ask for miraculous signs, and Greeks study philosophy,’ 1 Cor. 1:22
Knowing that we are to continually move forward will help our hearts learn to trust and see the new as we walk through the new doors set before us. Paul said a great effectual door is before me and many adversaries. 1 Cor. 16:9 You must contend before you can successfully transition!
