When someone causes trouble or withdrawals love and support from you in order to get their way; this is called manipulation and it is demonic.
Manipulation is an attempt to get a person to bend to a perverted reality through demonic tactics that Heaven does not use.
These tactics are used to control the thoughts of another and punishment is used as the enforcer when you do not heed the mind control.
